What is the Chicago Film Symposium?
The Chicago Film Symposium is a one-day event showcasing short documentaries and narrative films by Chicago-based Black filmmakers. It is hosted by Black Film Club Chicago and Black Women Directors, aiming to celebrate local talent in the film industry and foster community connection.

When and where is the symposium taking place?
The 2025 Chicago Film Symposium will take place Saturday, November 1 at the Green Line Performing Arts Center in Chicago’s Washington Park neighborhood: 329 E Garfield Blvd.
The Center is conveniently located one block south of the Garfield Green Line stop. Street parking is also available.
